Oh Hey, Remember Me?

Warning:  there are no pictures in this blog.  Sorry if it's a little too wordy for ya.

Anywho, I really need to be smart and have like a weekly blogging day or something.  My current style of blogging makes it really hard for me to remember what has happened lately that may be worthy of sharing.  Also, it really doesn't help that I never ever take any pictures.

So, let's see.  Jesse and I decided to give the old vegan thing a try.  I think it's trendy these days.  Anyway, Freya and Brett are the ones who inspired us.  They are kind of our mentors.  We're not as good at being strict as they are, but we've done pretty well so far.

And don't worry, we already know the perils that are ahead for us.  You don't need to tell me.  I repeat, keep your comments to yourself.  We already know that we are going to shrivel up and die, that our brains are going to shrivel and we will become idiots, that we are going to become crazy liberals, that we can't possibly get all of the nutrients we need without meat, blah, blah, blah.  Thanks for the concern, but we can handle it.  If we start to deteriorate, we will make some modifications.

Too rude?  If so, sorry.  Anyway, we've been doing the vegan thing for a little over a month now.  It's working well for the most part.  I've lost about 10 lbs and Jesse's lost more than that.  We really went into this thinking that it would be good for health reasons and to lose some weight, but the not eating animals is just an added bonus.  I tried to be vegetarian when I was a kid because eating animals made me sad.  My mom told me I couldn't until I was an adult.  Well, I'm an adult now! So ha!  Also, I happen to have a little thing called PCOS and am extra prone to Diabetes, heart problems, and weight-related issues, so we thought it would be good to get things under control now.

If you're still reading this now, thanks!  I won't bore you with anymore diet-related things or rants.  Yesterday, Jesse and I went to Orlando!  Woohoo!  We have season passes to Universal/Islands of Adventure, so we can go whenever we feel like it.  We decided to go down and go to the temple, and then hit up the parks for a few hours before driving home.  Yes, all in a day.  Our original plan was to leave around 6 a.m.  That soon turned into 7, then 8.  I was feeling a little under the weather and literally could not get out of bed, so Jesse, all dressed in his suit since 5:30, stopped trying to get me up and decided to let me sleep.  I woke up on my own at 9:30.  I didn't think it would be possible to still do our trip.  I was wrong.  We got on the road at 10, due to Jesse's driving skills got to Orlando around 1:15, and went to the temple.  We got to Islands around 5, it closed at 7, then headed over to Universal at 7.  It was way fun.  It's nice to be able to just take a little day trip and get away from it all for a while. We didn't get home until 1 a.m., but we survived.

Today we went to Kelly's wedding!  Kelly and I went to high school together.  It was nice to have like a little high school reunion with about 7 of us.  It was a really nice wedding at Maclay Gardens.  Outside.  And of course, this whole past month and a half now it has been like spring weather, but today, it was like 35 degrees! haha.  We all survived, but I think Kelly was a popsicle after all of the picture-taking.  Anyway, we had fun, and accidentally had a sip of alcohol.  I thought it was orange juice.  I guess the fact that it was in a champagne flute should've clued me in, huh?  Oh well, I won't make that mistake again!

Anywho, sorry, did I use "anywho" already?  Well, I think that's about all I have.  Oh yeah, tomorrow marks a whole year and a half that Jesse and I have been married! Crazy!  And awesome.  Jesse's the best husband I could have ever asked for!

Okay, seriously, if you made it this far, I am thrilled.  But I will stop.  I tend to ramble.  Oh, and Jesse just made fun of me because I'm listening to Yanni.  I'm really done now.  Bye.

  1. Good for you! It sounds like you guys are doing the vegan thing just right. It is probably a good thing to cheat once in a while, so don't beat yourself up :)

I am glad your trip worked out! Keep taking care of each other. We love you both.
