My dear, sweet Jesse

So on Sunday we went to my mom's house for Mother's Day.  My mom wasn't home yet.  Suddenly I realized that I didn't know where Jesse was.  I looked all over.  Krissie said she thought he was in Mom's room.  I didn't think so.  Why would he be hanging out in there?  A little while later, I heard his muffled voice, coming from my mom's room.  Me: "Are you in the closet?!?!"  Jesse: "No."

"I'm under the bed."

Oh yes, of course you are under the bed.

(He was trying to befriend my cat, Timmy, who hides under the bed whenever people come over).

Sewing is not like riding a bike...

So I recently decided that I want to start sewing.  I borrowed my mom's sewing machine and got some fabric.  How hard could it be?  I took Home Ec in 7th grade.  I mean, all you do is push some fabric along and voila, you have a cute new pillow case, etc.!

FALSE!  Sewing is super hard.  And it doesn't just come back to you after 11 years of not using a sewing machine.

Turns out, that darn machine is super hard to thread.  My mom showed me how a few days ago, but I guess I don't remember exactly all the steps.  And it turns out I'm not so good at the sewing part, either.  I can't seem to sew a straight line.  It looks like those super cute dress patterns are gonna have to wait a long time while I get some sewing lessons from my mom, Lindy, and anyone else who wants to help me!

I'm an old lady!

So Thursday morning I woke up, snoozed my alarm a few times, and then when it was time to get up, I turned my head.  I didn't turn it too quickly or anything, but the back of my head/neck popped really loud and really hard.  It freaked me out.  It was kind of that hit your elbow feeling.  I've had that before when I've turned my head too quickly, but the pain usually doesn't last long.  Well, I was laying in bed for about 40 minutes with my head turned to the left, and I couldn't turn it or even sit up because my neck hurt so badly.  So I cried a lot and called me mom.  She came over and brought me some breakfast and made me an appointment with a chiropractor.  I had to wait until after 2 to go, though, because that was the earliest they could get me in.

I don't think I've ever been adjusted at the chiropractor before, and it was a bit startling and scary when he yanked my head and my neck popped like six times.  And then he did it again.  It was rather unpleasant.  He said I have torticollis.  It's something to do with my neck muscles being all stiff and my head being stuck turned to one side.  It sucks.  Also, my left leg is also slightly shorter than my right one.  And my back is all crazy, so he adjusted that too.

Anyway, that night I hardly slept because the pain was horrible again, and laying down seemed to make it worse, but I was sooo tired!

I went back for a follow-up today, and he yanked my head around some more (ouch) and I got some electromagnetic therapy again.  That didn't hurt.  And since some of the muscles in my back are so tense, he said he needed to basically tear them a bit.  Yeah, that was fun.  Anywho, I'm finally starting to feel a bit better, and I can turn my head all the way to the right!  I'm thinking I may be able to drive tomorrow! Woohoo!  Hopefully I can sleep tonight, and hopefully sleep won't make it worse.  He said he really thinks I should be 70 percent better tomorrow.

Things and Stuff

So last week was Easter!  It was great.  Jesse's parents came to visit, and Kourtney and Juan came too.  For the whole Easter fun and pictures, go read Lindy's blog.  She is a wittier blogger than I am, and I don't think I could tell it any better.

Anywho, we went and got some frozen yogurt with Jesse's mom.  I just got some cheesecake yogurt with fruit and graham cracker crust.  I thought mine was a reasonable size:
Mmm.

Jesse had different plans:

Blueberry, strawberry, plain, watermelon, and vanilla, topped with granola, strawberries, blueberries, and a heath bar...
He didn't finish it all...

On Saturday (yesterday) we went bowling!  I am not good at bowling... It was for my mom's boyfriend's son's tenth birthday.  I started out doing really badly.  I bowled a 38 the first game.  The second game was looking the same, until, in the last three frames, I learned how to bowl properly, and opted for the six-pound ball which barely fit my fingers, and bowled an 89! I got the second highest score!

And then Jesse played some Simpson's Hit and Run:

Is it weird that I broke my fast with water and animal crackers?

Anyway, I got called as the Primary Chorister today.  Am I excited? Yes.  Am I terrified?  Yes. Do I have any idea what I'm doing?  Nope.  Guess we'll find out if Heavenly Father really does qualify who He calls.  I'm really hoping so...
