So long, Red Elephant

So I officially quit the Red Elephant.  Sad day.  I worked there for more than 3 years!! Crazy.  I was there when we opened up Kerry Forest.  Now, I hadn't actually worked any of my shifts in almost two months, I kept giving them away, but still, now that I'm officially not an employee, it feels weird.  And kind of sad.

Anyway, they had a little going away party for me and for Rachael, who is graduating and leaving soon.  They got this super cute cake!

So cute.  Publix is awesome.

I certainly won't miss working on evenings and Saturdays during football season.  But I will miss all of my Red Elephant friends, and of course, my discount!! I've never paid full price there!  But I'm still gonna eat there a lot, cuz it's pretty much my favorite restaurant.

Also, apparently Corey had some fun with my camera...

Corey and Billy
Billy, my mom, and Corey.  My mom is like weird friends with Corey and Billy.  She told Billy he can come over and nap at her house any time he has a break.  She also wants to have him over for dinner...

One Year Anniversary!

It seems like there have been a lot of anniversary posts lately.  I guess August is a good month for getting married.

For our anniversary, we wanted to take a trip.  Since trips are expensive, we came up with a good solution.  We went and stayed in Marianna at Jesse's parents' house.  It's clean, and free!  And it's close to Panama City, so we went to the beach the next day.

I never thought it could be too hot to go to the beach.  Well, on Saturday it was!  Just walking from the car to the water was horrible.  I was sweating so much!  And this time of year, the water is not so refreshing.  But once we got in, it was nice.  Except for the ridiculous amount of seaweed!! Yuck. I hate seaweed.  Also, the beach was smelly.  Like that beach smell plus manure. Weird. Also, we didn't pack well for the beach.  We applied sunscreen before we left the house, wore our swimsuits, and brought towels.  That was it.  We forgot to bring the sunscreen with us.  And we bought overpriced water bottles at the state park. And I'm a bad wife and I forgot to put sunscreen on Jesse's back, and he got fried.  (In my defense, he didn't ask me to put any on his back!)  Anyway, I think I like St. George a lot better, but Marianna is much closer to PC.  Also, I did not get get any pictures at the beach.  Probably a good thing.

After the beach we went to Wonderworks.  It was kinda cool, but definitely overpriced.  I learned new things about Jesse there.

Like, apparently he has dreams of having a large TV screen hooked up to satellites so he can do some Google Earth-ing.  Like this:

This was the first thing we saw.  He loved it and said he already had an idea to do something like it...

Jesse on a bed of nails.

Virtual basketball.
It was weird.

We also went to this restaurant in PC called Case de Fogo.  It's a Brazilian place.  They have a really good, extensive salad bar.  Then they bring you meat.  Lots of it.  They give you a coaster which is green on one side, red on the other.  If your coaster is on the green side, they bring skewers of filet mignon, sirloin, garlic steak, parmesan pork, sweet and sour chicken, bacon-wrapped chicken, some other kind of steak, and other stuff.  Then they slice off a chunk for you.  We definitely left there super full.

The day after our anniversary we broke out our cake top.  And it actually tasted good!  It was still moist.  I couldn't believe it..

Anywho, it was a great anniversary and I can't believe we've been married for a whole year.  It totally flew by!  It's been great.  Jesse is the best husband and I love him and all that mushy stuff!

The Youth Summit

So I went to the 4th Annual Youth Summit.  It was fun.  It's for youth ages 15-30 with disabilities.  It's basically just a big party all weekend.  At the dance I was quite popular and two men fought over me.  Haha.  No, Jesse was not there.

Me and Brennon

Me and Alexander.

These two fought for my dancing attention.  I basically just alternated between songs.  It was tiring! haha.  And when I was dancing with one guy, the other would be standing there watching the whole time!

Alexander describes himself as a ladies man.  When I told him I was married, he cared for about ten minutes.  The rest of the time I was number one on his hot list.  And he said we made a good couple and should enter a dance contest.  I don't know what he was thinking, I'm a terrible dancer! haha

 Me and Carlz

Me and Whitney

Me and Laurel.

Laurel is my friend.  In real life.  She told me multiple times to add her on Facebook.  She still has not accepted my friend request... haha.  Also, a couple days ago, everyone in the office, as well as two Youth Council members who do not even live in Tallahassee, got thank you cards from Laurel.  Except me.  I'm hurt.  But maybe she'll just send one to my home address.

Anywho, the Youth Summit was super fun and a little bit wild.  I was basically a hall monitor for a good part of it, making sure people didn't wander off during presentations.  It was great.

Jesse's Birthday!

It's been a while since I blogged.  So get ready for multiple posts!

For Jesse's birthday, we went to see Thor at the dollar 3-dollar theater.  Then we went to Village Pizza with a group of people.  I do not have any pictures of those people.  But here are pictures of him and his gifts!
