Crappy Movie Club

So, Jesse and I have been able to get a lot of free rentals from Blockbuster thanks to promo codes.  Since there aren't a lot of movies out there worth seeing, and since they are free, we decided to start renting really crappy movies that we could laugh at.  Sometimes we just read the synopsis of the movies and pick whichever one sounds the worst.  It's actually quite fun (but only because it's free.  We would never spend money on some of these movies.  Not even a dollar).  Anywho, I thought I'd give some reviews, in case any of you were planning on watching these movies.  They are not quality movies.

We rented a few movies that we thought could go either way.  Limitless and Source Code were pretty good.  The Adjustment Bureau was OK, but definitely ridiculously over the top. Well, I guess the other two were pretty over the top as well...

Anyway, let me start with Battle: Los Angeles.  Surprisingly not that bad.  Certainly the most watchable of our craptastic movies so far.  The premise was stupid, for sure.  Aliens invade L.A. with guns and bombs and a lot of fire, and the Marines go and fight them.  It was entertaining, though.

Then we watched I Am Number Four.  And we thought movies couldn't get any worse than that.  We had no idea it would be some lame teen drama.  It was like watching Twilight movies all over again.  And the villains were stupid.  And they looked stupid.

But we were wrong.  We found an even worse movie.  We watched it last night.  It was just so stupid.  That movie:  Skyline.  It had not point. There was no explanation for anything.  Aliens come, pull people in with a blue light and tear apart L.A.  A bunch of people die.  The aliens take people's brains and put them into new aliens.  And that was about it.  Oh, and apparently, the aliens couldn't be over water, but that was never confirmed.

Anyway, we've got some more movies on our list.  Next up:  Red Riding Hood.  And Season of the Witch.  It has Nicolas Cage, so it's bound to be terrible.

  1. Ooo! I have one to add.

Try True Lies on Netflix instant play. Its Arnold at his best. :)

We watched it last night, and it was actually pretty entertaining...but seriously ridiculous.
