Rings and things...

I got my wedding band! Yay.  More like 6-month-anniversary band!

Also, we got a new couch.  Well, new to us.  I've never been one to pick up used crap off the side of the road, but we couldn't pass this up.

Before

After.

We got a slipcover on sale at Target.  The couch was in good shape and didn't really smell or anything.  So we vacuumed it and Febreezed the crap out of it.  It's great.  We can spread out now.  Also, it's huge and I had to do a bit of rearranging.

Also, I got these cute hand towels for my bathroom.  Five bucks at Ross.

Oh, and remember my blood-donating fiasco?  I'm still sore and bruised.

The elbow bruise may or may not be from hitting my elbow constantly.  I can't really keep track of that...

We also got a flat tire on Saturday on our way to Stake Conference.  In our nice church clothes.  Not that I really did much to help fix things, but still, I was there for moral support.  Now we have new tires.

Anyway, that was pretty much my weekend.  I went to the doctor today.  Being sick is no fun, but hopefully my antibiotic will clear up my head and let me sleep at night!  I think that's everything I have worth sharing...

You're not hardcore, unless you live hardcore...

Please excuse my hideousness, it was a long day.

I'm so hardcore I donated out of both arms!
Well, not really...  but kind of.

So Monday night Jesse and I decided to go give blood.  I've given blood before, and have only had one bad, queasy experience.  I was feeling pretty good and we went to Subway so I could eat a feast beforehand.  So we were all set.

Once there, they asked which arm I prefer.  Left, of course.  However, I have tiny veins and it is near impossible to locate a good vein in my left arm, so they went for the right one.  After they stuck it in, the blood was really slow.  So they adjusted the needle.  And adjusted it again.  And one more time.  (PAIN)

They said it wasn't going to work.  Then they asked if I wanted to give the left arm a try.  I said sure.  I still wanted to be charitable.  So they used the blood pressure pumpy thingy instead of just tying something around my arm to make sure they could find a vein.  The first try was successful and it didn't take long for me to fill up a bag!  Plus the small amount they took from my right arm...

So we went home and I was a little woozy, but nothing too crazy.  We watched the Swan Princess and ate some sugar.  Then about four hours after the donation I got in the shower.  Halfway into the shower I suddenly felt a rush of nausea/dizziness/flashing white lights and thought I was going to throw up and pass out at the same time.  I quickly left the shower and laid down until I felt better.

Next day: woke up feeling really weak and slightly nauseous.  Couldn't really eat much.  My darn right arm hurt more than before, and it's even worse now as I'm writing this!!  I told my managers at Red Elephant that I couldn't carry a big tray and that they shouldn't get mad when they see that I'm not running food.

Anywho, it was quite an experience.  Very strange.  But I did get my Walmart gift card as promised, and they even threw in a t-shirt since I was poked and prodded so darn much!  Hopefully my arm will stop hurting so I can lift stuff and sleep on my right side, which is my favorite way to sleep!

Crepe-tastic!

So since Sunday was our sixth-month anniversary and Monday was Valentine's Day, we had some delicious crepes.  Twice.  Last Valentine's Day Jesse and Zach came over to make crepes for BethAnn and me, and also, when Jesse proposed, he made me crepes for breakfast.  Crepes are my favorite.

Be jealous.
Strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, cottage cheese (don't knock it till you try it), powdered sugar, lemon juice
Strawberries, fresh blueberries, blueberry pie filling, cottage cheese, powdered sugar, whipped cream, lemon juice.

Number 3, yes I had 3, was a combination of everything.  Delish.  Oh and then we did it all again the next day!

Also, I woke up to this on V-Day morning.

And yes, we still have Hogwarts sitting on our table, melting away...

He made the card! Even used squiggly scissors on the edges. :)  Since we only have one car, Jesse doesn't really have a lot of time to sneak around, so he got up at like six and went to get this for me.  So sweet!

Epiphany

So I was jamming out to some tunes from our reception, and I had an epiphany.  Rick Springfield spoke to me.  I literally whipped around and said to Jesse, (probably more like yelled in his direction),"Why didn't I think of this before?!!?!"  It's so simple!

So now my blog has a cutesy name.  Cheesy? Perhaps.  Do I care?  Not at all!  It's time I crawled out of my sarcastic blogging hole and joined the rest of the world with cute girly-ness!  Anyway, I was pretty excited about this. Jesse also seemed to like it.  I think he just wants to be represented.

So apparently if you change your last name, you'll never get a job.

For my Intro to Education class we have to go observe in three schools.  We sign up for observations online.  So I signed up for a couple of them with the name "Tanya Hansen," my legal name.  duh.

Anywho, I didn't change my name at TCC before the semester started because I didn't think it would be a big deal, since I hate TCC and plan on getting out of there ASAP.  I was also expecting some financial aid, and since I filled out my FAFSA as Williams, I thought it might be wise to keep my name that way for school stuff.  (I didn't get any financial aid, because TCC is the worst school ever and they won't give me the money I qualify for because I am poor, but that's another story...)

So anyway, my driver's license, social security card, and everything else say Hansen, and since my license says Hansen, my Leon County School badge also says Hansen.  Imagine that.  I mentioned to my professor about the name thing so he would have a heads up.  I even went a few weeks ago to TCC's enrollment services and officially changed my last name.  And they changed it.  So it makes it really weird when I get a call on a Sunday afternoon from the lady who is in charge of setting up the observations.  The observation sign-ups are open Monday at 5 to Wednesday at 10, and we were told that this woman is quick and gets all the info sent to the schools immediately.  So why, four days later, is she calling me about my name?  Because she just wanted to harp on me about changing my name.  She had already figured out that my name on the class roster was Williams.  She called to confirm it, and I told her how it was.  Then she proceeded to tell me how she is "philosophically opposed" to women changing their names.  Also, it causes so many problems down the road in finding a job, etc.  She even went on and on about how the schools look us up by our SSN, not by the name on the TCC roster.  Well, that's good, since my legal name is Hansen!!!  She just wanted to go on and on about it.  It's a little late for me to unchange it.

So anyway, I just thought this was the dumbest thing ever.  I'm philosophically opposed to my children not having the same last name as me.  As a woman, I have the right to change my name to whatever the heck I want, and I chose to change it!  And why would a professor call me on a Sunday?  It's just weird.  She's not even my professor.  I've never met the woman before.

Oh yeah, and after her ramblings, she was like, "well don't change your name again, just causes problems." What?!?!

Ok, that's my weird story from the weekend.  I sure hope the schools let me in with my badge that says "Tanya Hansen."  I'm so worried they might look up my SSN and see that my name is officially changed.  How horrible and submissive of me to change my name.

Children are a little bit scary. Cute, but scary.

So I don't blog much because I feel like I need an event to blog about.  But I thought, "Hey I'll just blog about my weekend."  True Story.

Anywho, we went to the temple on Saturday.  Here's a few pics!

Please excuse my hideousness in this picture.

I took my glasses off so I would look more attractive. ha

The individual shots turned out better.

Apparently the temple brings out Jesse's inner model.

Also, about five years ago I got new scriptures.  So did BethAnn.  Neither of us had them engraved, though.  So BethAnn was like, "why don't we wait till we get married and then get them engraved?"  I think we both thought it would be sooner.  But anyway, five years later:

Yay!

So the rest of the trip was good.  We ate at Tony Roma's, which was delicious.  Jesse did a bit of studying on the way back.  Kristen asked if we could substitute in Primary for her the next day so we looked up the lesson on my phone (very convenient).

We stopped at a gas station, and while Jesse pumped the gas, I went inside to go to the bathroom and get a few snacks.  I come out of the bathroom, and Jesse, with a smirk on his face, says, "Did you just go in the men's bathroom?"  Sure enough, I did.  I was wondering why the toilet seat was up when I went in.

Also, teaching Primary was fun, but a little scary.  Between the two of us we had a hard time getting all the kids to sit down and listen.  They kept getting up, sitting on the top of their chairs, climbing the walls, and coming up to the front of the class while I was teaching.  But we colored some good pictures, and I think they all learned a little something.  One little girl was exceptionally smart.  We were talking about Joseph Smith's First Vision and this little girl answered a question about it and then says, "it's like when Nephi..." and launches into a story about Nephi and completely relates it to what we were talking about.  She was six!  This blew my mind.

All-in-all I would call it a great weekend!
