Anyway, since his birthday was on Tuesday night, and he had to be at church for his new calling (1st Counselor in Young Men's), I decided to have some celebrating on Saturday. Lindy and Cory came with us, and we went to an afternoon showing of The Dark Knight Rises. It was really good! We all liked it. And we ate LOTS of popcorn. Lindy bought the refill-able kind so she wanted to make sure she got her money's worth.
After the movie, we went home and napped. It was nice. Then I took Jesse out for a nice birthday dinner at Outback. It was yummy. We got really lucky, and the bar area had some open tables. So we didn't have to wait 40 minutes.
Then I decided to let Jesse open his presents, since he had been playing the Arkham City demo over and over again. I had gotten him the real game.
I also got him this cute little Superman onesie for the baby.
I saw these little model things at Lofty Pursuits a few weeks ago. I thought Jesse would like a little plane. He likes to put things together.
The finished product:
The next day we went to have dinner with some friends to celebrate Sarah's birthday, which was last week. So Jesse and I made a key lime cheesecake! It turned out really well. Here's a picture:
On Jesse's actualy birthday, I made him a cake:
It's a road cake. It didn't really turn out how I pictured it... I guess when Jesse was a kid, he once had a road cake when he was in AZ for the summer, and he thought it was the coolest thing ever. Unfortunately, the cake looked a lot better in my head...
Anyway, I think Jesse had a good birthday! I thought it was fun!
ooh the key lime cheesecake turned out beautifully! gotta love whipped cream!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to jesse! i'm glad you guys had a good time celebrating!
