Evelyn's Fifth Month

Our little girlie turned five months! She didn't have a check-up this month, but she did have a doctor visit and she's just over 17 pounds and about 27 inches. She just grows and grows all the time! I wish she would slow down. She's pushing it with the 6-month sleepers, tall girl. She's still in size 2 diapers, but I'm sure she will be out of them soon.

She started rolling from back to tummy right at the begging of this month. She would roll onto her tummy and then get upset. After a few days, she figured out how to roll to her back. Now she just rolls onto her tummy and stays there, playing and pushing up. She's getting too close to crawling. She pushes up so well and scoots around somehow. She just wants to go!

She figured out the joys of jumping as well. She's been in the Jumparoo before, but she just liked standing and playing with the toys. Now that she's discovered jumping, she doesn't ever want to stop. My arms get a good workout now.

She loves to sit and she's got a pretty strong core. She loves to stand and flail around a lot. She makes lots of noise and blows bubbles non-stop. She loves to smile and has a funny forced-sounding laugh. Nate is the best at getting her to laugh. He doesn't have to do much, she just thinks he's great. They are so sweet together. She kicks, he laughs, she laughs. They also have a little game they play at the dinner table. Nate sets his sippy cup right next to her in her Bumbo and she knocks it over. He laughs, she smiles, they repeat the game. It's so cute. I love them.

She is still sleeping well at night with me. She wakes up to nurse a couple times and goes straight back to sleep. She's not as great with naps lately, but I think she's getting back into a routine.

She is definitely teething and chews on her fingers, burp cloths, her clothes, my clothes, etc. all the time. She hasn't cut any teeth yet, but I'm sure it will be soon.

She is such a sweet, happy girl and we love her to pieces.
